M Chisholm (they/them) is an upcoming stage manager and lighting technician in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal). They aspire to be the best stage manager in the game. Their knowledge of lighting, sound, and video helps them understand how to work with designers and department heads.
M is a graduated student from the LEDP (Live Entertainment Design and Production: Technical Design and Management) program at John Abbott College.
M is currently working with Geordie Theatre as a Tour Manager for the 2 Play Tour. They’re travelling all around Quebec and Eastern Canada to bring theatre to kids in small communities with limited to no access to theatre.
M was the head of lighting for Heather’s: The Musical (May 2024) and Find Me (March 2025). During these productions, they learned how to program lighting cues on the ETC Element 2. They also furthered their communication skills by leading crews for the lighting hangs and focus sessions. Additionally, they were the stage manager for Jekyll & Hyde in their graduating semester.
During their 3 years in the LEDP program, M learned to use lighting, sound, and video software such as ETC, Ableton Live, Reaper, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe After Effects. They also have Geenie, ladder, and working-at-height training. Additionally, they have completed the college’s training for dealings with hazardous materials.
M’s enthusiastic energy and demeanor make them a gem to work with. They’ll help with anything to ensure the show goes on. M’s love for theatre creates a warm and welcoming environment for all those around, every day is a treat. (And they’ll bring you some treats too!)
In their spare time, they read books and work on small crafting projects.
